Wintertime Madness

Have you heard that song by Lana Del Ray, called Summertime Sadness?  You can check it out here if you want. Well, I, like everyone else in American, is sick of the winter weather, I know, super original right?
I do not mind snow though, I love it, I love the fleas being gone so they aren't biting my dog, I love the bugs being gone, I love doing winter activities, and most importantly I love the allergen levels are practically zero, So I can breathe!
Here in St. Louis the past couple of days, It has been two to three days with 60+ weather, then we will get snow and it will be cold for two days. Rinse and repeat. My allergies are going crazy and I feel like I should be on the Walking Dead.
This what I wore for more job interviews, I wish there was a place I could go, and Flo from Progressive would be there, and would hand select me a job, with the perfect benefits package!
Note- Please excuse the weird background on these pictures, I was embarrassed because of my room conditions, I need to find a select location for photos, but my house sucks!

I put my hand upon your hip, When I dip, You dip, We dip.

I follow a lot of makeup artists on instagram and they all use something to make their eyebrows so thick and luxourious! I wanted that! I need to live the beauty dream.

I usually just use an eyebrow pencil, til someone turned me on to E.L.F  and I use their Studio Eyebrow Kit  because its cheap and easy to use everyday and fairly good quality. While it was okay for everyday, its not really one that I could achieve this beauty dream I was chasing, so after doing some researching I came across the goddess (for eyebrows) known as Anastasia.

Recently I purchased Dipbrow from Anastasia Beverly Hills, (http://www.anastasia.net/ABH-Dipbrow-Pomade.html) recently I have been on an eyebrow kick. As many fellow redheads know, or even if you have another color hair, let me tell you, us gingers get a bad reputation! Not only do we not have souls (haha!) we usually get no wigs or extensions, and we don't really get products that are made for us redheads. I'm talking natural redheads, not dyed, even though we love it when girls join the dark side!

Now this was a little pricey for me, 18 dollars just for this, luckily I had a 30% off coupon, I hate to splurge on something when I don't know how its going to do. The first time I put it on, I seriously looked like Groucho Marx.

It is the hardest thing to put on, because once it goes on its waterproof, and apparently smudge proof, so you will need a really steady hand. After a quick run to the bathroom with soap and water, and a couple you tube videos later which I highly recommend because its easiest to watch how to put it on then anyone to tell you.
I did it exactly the way it was shown in most of the tutorials, and this is how my brows looked with just one of them done (in case you were wondering, the left side)

I lined the bottom of the lash starting about right above the pupil, and then lined the top, I then took my brush and lined the bottom part of the beginning, and used the rest of the product on my brush to fill in the front, after using it the first time, I realized that I shouldn't start from the beginning with so much product on my brush because it just comes out to dark for my liking. I then took my little spooly tool and ran it through my brush to get out anything excess, and then I put on some foundation on the tops and bottom to clean it up.

After doing one brow, which took about 5 minutes, because I wanted to take my time, I then decided to put on make up because I just felt I would be able to get a better look at how it will look for me.

I then put on the other eyebrow, which was surprisingly easy even with my eyes done.

Dipbrow definitely has its pros and cons. I like how its waterproof and smudge proof, because I am the kind of girl that will rub her eyes and realize their is makeup on it, after the fact. I like how it fills in my brows, but that can also be a con, because it can bulk up your eyebrows quick and make you look like a cartoon character. I like that it matches my hair color, and the price isn't that bad, especially if you have a coupon, because I barely even used any, so it will last me a very long time. I wish it were easier to use, so if I am running late , it could be a real issue. I think for work I will continue to use my elf products, and use Dipbrow for going out and special occasions. I also like, how the next day, it basically acted like a eyebrow tint, I didnt really have to do my eyebrows the next day because they still looked really good!
This is the next day.

I think if you want thicker eyebrows, or want something more dependable then a pencil this is a very good investment and you should really check it out!

I am not affiliated with Anastasia Beverly Hills. My opinions are my own.

polar vortex

I will be so happy when this polar vortex is over. We had a couple really nice days, almost in the 80s, and then snow and rain.

I bought this dress and sweater before Christmas and had planned on wearing it, but bought a different outfit to wear instead (confessions of a shopaholic in living form right here)

but the velvet dress, has great weight to it, and with the 90s style coming back, I think it can be pulled off at anytime. The sweater is kind of Christmas-y but  I feel like with the snow, I can pull it off.

The dress is very comfy but really short, but I'm only 5'3 so its not so bad. When I wear it in the summer, I plan on wearing bicycle shorts under it. The sweater is straight from a china wholesaler, and its oddly shaped, smelled really bad when I first opened it, and is somewhat itchy, but not unbearable.

I take way to many pictures of my dog, but I cant help it, I really obsessed with her, haha. Srynotsry

True Detective

Source

A couple weeks ago, my fiance and I were sitting home on a Sunday night bored because most of  our normal shows we watch were on their winter hiatus. *by the way, is this a new thing, a winter hiatus? because i don't remember it at all!*

We decided to watch True Detective because it came on before another show on HBO I love, Girls.
Both of us being Matthew McConaughey fans, for different genres of movies, ha, we decided to give it a go, and I am so happy we did.

The plot is back and forth between three time frames, 1995,2001, and present day, and follows two detectives that find a girl murdered and strapped to a tree in the south.

McConaughey plays Rust Cohle, an outspoken pessimistic man and his partner, Marty Hart who is played by Woody Harrelson whos more introverted, team up to solve this case. The show goes through twists and turns, and I promise you, the 4th episode will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. I swear, I get shocked by this show, which never happens to me, I usually can call the killer on less than five mins of an Law and Order SVU episode.

I dont want to give away to many spoilers, because this is one you will probably want to binge watch this entire show!

Be warned there are some, okay maybe a lot of slow spots, but the intense action and shifting story line will totally make up for it once it gets going! I read somewhere they like to slow it down, to let the viewer take in the story line and the visual aspects of the show.

If you are someone who loves law dramas, murder mystery dramas, or just love to see two men talk about their inner most personal thoughts, while arguing about it, this show is for you. Plus you get to see Matthew look like a homeless lunatic while he cuts little people out of beer cans!

There is a reason why everyone is talking about this show and better yet make these awesome remakes and spoofs!

little golden men

Like most of America, I tuned in for the Oscars last night, and maybe I am cynical but I was just not impressed. Like most women I tuned in for the fashion, and again, I was not impressed. I also was pretty bored with the whole show, mostly because some movies that I enjoyed did not win, and some I just didn't like care for took home a bunch. That is just my personal opinion and it changes from year to year.

It seemed to be that no one really took any real RISK with their Oscar dresses that you would see in earlier Oscars, Tony, Emmy, and even MTV award show.

I understand this is for mostly Hollywood A list celebrities and what-not, but I cant get over the the boring dresses I saw this year. A ton of metallic and nude colors, mixed with a bunch of little black dresses, or solid colors. While the shapes and cuts of the dresses were stuff I feel like I could find anywhere.

Im not a fashion designer nor claim to know everything there is know about fashion but it was a total downer for me.

but on a lighter note and not to sound totally drab, I have picked out my favorites
She look just like Cinderella here! I love Lupita's speech, and I now officially have to see 12 years a slave.

Although most girls were wearing black, I love Anna's  neckline and bust area, and love the pop of red, I think it really accentuates the red carpet. Not a huge fan of the hem line, but you cant win in every category, am i right?
Portia really stole the show here with this dress, can we please get a cheaper version of this so I can get married in it?

With the millions of metallics, Kristen really brought it with this, she was the best looking one in gold.

Sally gets an honorable mention just because it reminds me of older France attire

Again why I always say that its easier to be a guy, they have it so simple
Kevin Spacey mixing it up a little bit
Can Zac ever do wrong? Really?
Jared Leto almost bit the bullet with this one looking a little almost Pee Wee Herman, but he still looks adorable even if he hits people over the head with his mic at his concerts.

I would have to say that in my opinion, the best dressed of male and female is
*drum roll plz*

I think Matthew and Camilla looked absolutely amazing! I loved how Camilla went a little out of the ordinary with her pale pink choice for color, and how it has a wonderful silhouette but also had the side provide a magical appearance of flowy fabric. Matthew looks very dapper in his reversed usual penguin suit. Can my fiance please wear this for our wedding?

How do you feel about the Oscars, did you even watch? Who was your favorite dressed?
